Luma apiculata is an evergreen shrub or small tree. Grows fast to 6'-8' tall and equally wide. Old plants develop beautiful bark, the color of cinnamon. Dense foliage of closely set dark green, oval to roundish, .5" - 1" long leaves. Flowers are white to pinkish, a little more than .5" across, with 4 petals and a large brush of stamens in the center.
