Description

This bromeliad is intended for outdoor use in all but very cold areas. Its leaves grow to 18" long, with weeping branches. Overall growth reaches 2' tall, forming large clumps. Narrow, pendant blue and green striped flowers emerge from showy pink bracts in winter. The arching flower stalks grow to 30" tall. Queen Tears require part sun to shade, with little watering. It does excellent in containers, and will take 20-25 degree F with some damage. -Monterey Bay Nursery

Water Saving Tip:

Change spray sprinklers to low-flow bubbler or drip systems. Shrubs and trees are ideal candidates for this type of irrigation because the water is applied directly to the root zones.
