Description

Delicate-looking plant but actually very cold-hardy. Tolerates heat except in the low desert. Fernbush will grow to about 5' tall and wide, although some specimens can grow to 8'. White, lilac-like blossoms in the summer can attract hummingbirds. Flowers appear in mid summer. Bees also attracted. Long lived, semi-evergreen, fragrant light green ferny foliage. Bark develops into flaky reddish. Full sun, well drained. Suffers in low desert summers. Evergreen in mild, deciduous in cold climates.
